Social worker vacancies

The Department of Social Defence has invited applications from eligible residents of Tiruchi district for appointment as social worker members of the Juvenile Justice Board and chairperson and members of the Child Welfare Committee constituted under the Juvenile Justice Act.

Social Worker members for Juvenile Justice Board and chairperson and members for Child Welfare Committee are to be appointed on honorarium basis.

Applicants should have been actively involved in health, education or other welfare activities pertaining to children for at least seven years. The age of the applicant should not be less than 35 years and not above 65 years. Existing social worker members of Juvenile Justice Boards, Chairperson and Members of Child Welfare Committees can also apply for appointment for second term. The applicants should be graduates, preferably in social sciences such as criminology, psychology, sociology, social work, economics, home science, education, political science, women’s studies, rural development, law or medicine.
